Almost got into an "accident" on the way to work. The word accident is in quotes becasue it wouldn't have been an actual accident as much as it would have been pure stupidity.

Driving along, 4 lane highway, I am in the 3rd left lane @65. Woman in a Toyota Matrix in the 2nd left lane decides she needs to get into my lane. Well as I was driving faster than she was, my nose is at the mid point of her car. I see her turn signal come on, and then she just starts coming over.

Okay, no big deal, maybe I'm in her blind spot (not likely but okay). I give a few honks, she swerves back into her lane and I keep going. Well I then see her look over her shoulder, she looks DIRECTLY at me. We made eye contact, I see you, you see me.

So she definitely knows I am there now. So the most logical thing to do is to start coming back over into my lane. I am on the brakes so hard my ABS comes on and on the horn so hard I could damn near reach through the steering wheel and touch her tail lights.

Best part about it was, after she got in front of me (lucky that my brakes were good enough to stop my 5000# truck fast enough to not hit her), she slow down... I then signaled right (into the lane she came from which was clear of other vehicles) passed her and carried on. I watched in my rear view as, about 1/4 mile later, she switched back right all the way across all the lanes, to make an exit last minute.

Ugh.

dang! I fear that whenever i'm by a person like that. I also get the urge to get a set of cameras afterwards. My wagon has a charge port in the back and the regular one up front.

Yea I hear ya. I am sure you see a lot of the same poor driving habits in Houston. I keep telling myself that I need to buy a cam, but then I never do.

lol dayum! I have settled on just finding a set of used/cheap Galaxy S3's or something and get some good phone mounts/ 16 gig mini SD's. One for the front and one for the back. They store the date and time and have good quality cameras/microphones.

Further proof that driving is not for everyone...I hate people who say driving is a "right" and you can't take it away from people. No. Driving is a privilege for people who are capable and courteous. If you can't do it, fuck you. Walk to work. There's a reason 50000 gazillion people die in car crashes every year and it's because dumbfuck cocksuckers like the one in this story. /rant

My wreck made me invest in a dashcam. I was heading to work at 5:30 AM and in the third left lane of a four lane interstate. Up ahead I see two disabled cars on the left shoulder with their hazards on. As I approach, I see the lead car start to pull off, the fourth left lane was completely empty, I assumed she was leaving the shoulder to enter that lane. I assumed wrong.

She decided to play Frogger and was hobbling straight across all the lanes to make the exit. I stood on my brakes and quickly realized I was still going to hit her, so I pulled hard right to get by in front of her. I did, but over corrected and went into a spin and slid into the guardrail at 70 MPH.

I was fine until I watched her and the other car drive by me as if nothing happened. You better believe I hit the Pursuit button and went after her with the front fender shaving away my tire. Long story short, she was an uninsured driver driving a friend's car and didn't want to get caught.

yeah I have seen people make a mad dash to hit the left most lane cutting anyone and everyone off, ONLY to slow down and just cruise with other traffic...

That's quite common out here, so much so I see solid lines of cars getting on the on ramp and simultaneously cutting to the far left lane, like they were all chained together. I call them death chains.
